Quels légumes poussent le mieux en pot sur un balcon ?

Les fines herbes, les laitues et le mesclun, les radis, les haricots nains, les tomates cerises et déterminées, les poivrons et les piments, la ciboulette et les capucines. Évitez les légumes-racines longs comme le panais et les courges coureuses, qui demandent trop de volume.

Quelle taille de pot faut-il selon le légume ?

Comptez 5 litres pour les fines herbes et les laitues, 10 litres pour les haricots nains et les radis, 20 litres pour une tomate, un poivron ou une aubergine, 40 litres pour un concombre ou un melon. Un pot trop petit sèche en une demi-journée de canicule.

Combien d'heures de soleil faut-il sur un balcon ?

Six heures et plus pour les tomates, poivrons, concombres et haricots. Trois à quatre heures suffisent aux laitues, épinards, radis, mesclun et fines herbes, qui apprécient même l'ombre de l'après-midi en juillet. Un balcon au nord reste cultivable, en verdures.
