Pourquoi mes carottes ne lèvent-elles pas ?

Dans neuf cas sur dix, la surface du sol a séché pendant les deux à trois semaines de germination. Semez peu profond, arrosez en pluie fine tous les jours, couvrez d'un voile. Semez aussi un rang de radis en repère : ils lèvent en quatre jours et marquent la ligne.

Quand semer les carottes de conservation au Québec ?

Entre la mi-juin et la mi-juillet. Elles atteignent leur calibre en octobre et se sucrent avec les premières gelées. Danvers 126, Rumba et Dolciva sont faites pour ça.

Faut-il traiter contre la mouche de la carotte ?

Non, un filet anti-insecte posé dès le semis suffit. La mouche vole bas : un filet de 60 cm de haut, bien fermé au sol, bloque la ponte sans aucun traitement.
