About autumn rye [green manure]
This is a robust and rustic plant, suitable for all soils. It is sown as an autumn green manure on free plots. The poaceae protects the soil from erosion and leaching, cleans it and structures it. Sown at the beginning of September, rye creates a dense plant cover that survives the winter. It is buried the following spring before the establishment of cucurbit or solanaceous crops. Be careful, the plant is difficult to dig in with a fork. It requires two to three passes with a tiller. Also available in other formats in the Green Manures category.
