À propos German chamomile

Taken as an infusion, German chamomile is calming. Delicate yellow and white flowers. Self-sows. Can be sown in October. Plant height: 40 cm.

Chamomile grows in full sun in light, sandy, low-organic-matter, well-drained soil. It thrives in cool temperatures and is best sown in early fall or early spring; it can also be propagated indoors in April. The seeds are tiny; they barely need to be buried. They will germinate within a week. Chamomile reseeds easily. Once established, it returns each spring. Transplant young plants 25 cm apart.

This information on sowing and growing can be found in the book 40 Medicinal Plants for the Home Pharmacy by Diane Mackay.
