Le datura est-il dangereux au jardin ?

Il est toxique par ingestion, pas au toucher. Cultivé en massif ornemental, loin du potager et hors de portée des enfants et des animaux, il ne pose pas de problème. Portez des gants pour manipuler les graines.

Le datura revient-il chaque année au Québec ?

Non, c'est une annuelle chez nous. Il se ressème parfois spontanément si des capsules sont tombées au sol, mais un semis intérieur en mars reste la façon fiable de l'obtenir.

Quelle différence entre datura et brugmansia ?

Le brugmansia est un arbuste tropical aux trompettes pendantes, qu'on hiverne à l'intérieur. Le datura est une annuelle herbacée aux trompettes dressées, semée chaque année.
